Ever wonder which sunglasses shape is perfect for your face? Never fear; you’re not alone. Our hunt for the perfect pair is always trifold; we look for style, fit and protection from the sun. But with so many different styles and shades, it may be hard to find sunglasses that fit your face–and style–the best. Here it is: What Fits Yo’ Face 101

1.Oval and round frames or butterfly glasses fit angular faces with strong jaw lines, broad foreheads, and square chins.

2.If you have an oval face, you’re in luck because many shapes will fit your face frame.

3. An oblong face, which is a narrow shape that is longer than it is wide, works best with tall frames or broad glasses with a temple that creates width.

4. Round faces require angular and geometric frames while heart shaped faces match well with narrow, round frames that soften your forehead.

Whatever face shape you have, there is a style that is just right for you. The next step in finding your perfect pair is choosing from a brand that strikes your fancy. Ray Bans are stylish, classy, and always in style. From original wayfarers to aviators, Ray Bans are the best selling eyewear brand in the world. However, they can be a bit pricey. If you’re running low on dough, I suggest getting a pair from a clothing store you already frequent. I bought my aviators at Urban Outfitters for about $15 bucks. They may not be name brand, but they definitely give me the style + protection combo I look for in a kickasss pair of shades.

People love their counterculture and all the ridiculously expensive fashion that comes with it. Sorry Snooki, but your diamond studded sunglasses for the blind haven’t really made an impact with East Coast college kids. We’re all about the Ray-Bans, or if you’re like me and think 150 bucks could go toward beer or food, the Fay-Bans. I personally have two pairs, one tie-dye and the other flowered, from Macy’s.

Well, I predict a new pair of protective lenses on the market—CRAP Eyewear. Potentially inspired by Ke$ha and half the price of a pair of Ray-Bans, CRAP Eyewear boasts collection names like “The Nudie Mag” and “The Juan Jovi.” These thick-framed, mirrored-lenses could really go either way at this point. Whether the hipster crowd, the bros, or the just plain d-bags take a liking to these babies, I’m personally glad Ray-Ban has a challenger. Considering the picture involves Natty Light instead of Pabst, I think we can exclude the hipsters.

I guess Paris would fit in just getting out of class at SU

I’ve been mildly confused about a bizarre trend that is going around campus. Yes, I understand that we have just begun “spring” in Syracuse, so your Uggs and earmuffs are still perfectly acceptable. The temperature is in the teens when you factor in the wind chill, so I see nothing wrong with bundling up with a Northface and a scarf. What I cannot even begin to fathom, however, is WHY people are wearing sunglasses when it is cloudy out, or better yet, sunglasses while inside!

Celebrities in LA have been sporting this look for years, but for them, it makes sense. Take Paris Hilton for example. She’s six feet tall, has bleached blonde hair, and is famous for absolutely nothing. The girl has made sex tapes on more occasions than days she’s actually worked. Obviously the paparazzi are going to be ALL over that, snapping pictures every step she takes. (more…)
