In honor of women’s history month last March I wrote a couple of blog posts for Jerk and about Matilda Joslyn Gage, an unknown suffragist who greatly contributed to securing women’s right to vote but ended up getting screwed over by her “friends” and left out of history books.

I still haven’t forgotten about this kick-ass lady, and in order to honor her this year I wrote Ms. Gage a letter explaining why I think she rocks.

Dear Matilda,

I have now spent over one year of my life studying you and being aware of your awesome existence. I had the opportunity to be taught all about your life’s work from Sally Roesch Wagner, another amazing woman who has dedicated her life to restoring your name in history. (more…)

I’ve flown before, I know mistakes happen and people end up screwed and in need of connecting flights, accommodations, etc.  It’s just never happened to me, well, at least until now.

Happy People Waiting For Canceled Flights

Apparently when you purchase a seat online for a flight and it says that you’re guaranteed a seat, it doesn’t actually mean anything.  It was my intention to fly with my friends to Chicago and connect into Indianapolis, that’s not what happened (and if you couldn’t figure that out by now then you’re an idiot).

Oh right, the redirected flights are from Syracuse to Atalanta at 9:00 10:00 pm (thanks to a wonderful delay) where the next flight to Indianapolis is at 9:51 am.  Atlanta’s a lovely place, but when you want to be somewhere else…it resembles hell.

I don’t know what to make of this, so I thought it’d be best to post it publicly. Let the comments commence.

Nowadays, I rarely find myself making an actual phone call.  It seems that the hierarchy of communication has shifted towards text, because I don’t think of calling someone before texting.  If you’re still unsure of the benefits of texting over making a real phone call, well take look at this…

If you stick to texts, this doesn’t have to be you. Problem solved.  Go to The Oatmeal for the rest.

Sorry for the Academy Award 2010 overload, but this YouTube video is necessary viewing. Kevin James is always good for a laugh.

George Clooney is one good looking man, but he didn’t look too happy last night at the Oscars. Poor guy, someone throw him an academy award.

This was by far one of my favorite parts of The Academy Awards last night. Props to Ben Stiller for his convincing Avatar costume, and kudos to “the academy” for not voting Avatar as the best picture of the year.

Sorry this video sucks, YouTube doesn’t have a clear version of this yet.

FYI, the scroll ball is supposed to look like a clitoris and there is a button in the middle. Pretty happy I didn’t get this for Valentine’s Day.
