Well, actually I guess this list should be six things considering I had no idea Lady Gaga had a boyfriend.  And I pretty much just considered her an ‘it’ since most of the time you can’t even tell there is a human under all that glitter and what not.  Turns out they met while filming the music video to her song “You and I”.  Yeah, the creepy one that starts out in the middle of nowhere.  Oh wait, that’s how all her music videos start.

1. Taylor Kinney—Gaga’s BF, was cast as the love interest in her video.  Apparently they fell in love while Gaga acted as captured mermaid and Kinney played her captor.  Hmm, seems appropriate for Gaga.

2. He’s also a vampire.  He played Mason Lockwood in the second season of “The Vampire Diaries” before he was killed off.  Looks like Gaga’s wrapped up in all that teen heartthrob vampire stuff too.

3.  He wasn’t always on stage, first, he was on camera.  He modeled for L.A. Models and decided to dive into acting.  His first role was in “Fashion House” where he starred with Morgan Fairchild and Bo Derek.

4.  Gaga accompanied him to his brother’s wedding in June.  Seriously… can’t imagine Gaga as a plus one at my wedding.

5.  He grew up in Pennsylvania and studied business management at WVU.  Seems a little too normal for Gaga…

Apparently Gaga still holds a torch for her ex-boyfriend Luc Carl, who honestly looks more like Gaga’s type.  Still hard to believe she’s dating Taylor Kinney, he needs to get a little more crazy before I can believe this relationship…

Want Lady Gaga’s Fame? You can have it.

Lady Gaga announced the release of her fragrance, Fame, this fall. Wondering what Gaga has chosen for the scent of her new perfume? Knowing her eclectic style it could range anywhere from rotten eggshells to sunflowers. Her original ideas for the perfume entailed notes of blood and semen but thankfully for her fans that wasn’t the final product.

Her new perfume ‘Fame’ is aptly named, as Gaga told WWD, “Fame is an illusion—if you really want it, anyone can have it”. Lady Gaga worked with Coty on developing her fragrance, which turned out to be a very artistic and innovative process. Her new perfume is unusual in two ways.

First, in the egg shaped glass bottle with a heavy golden claw cap is a black liquid. But when sprayed, it turns clear. This is meant to illustrate the ‘black soul of fame’ that’s invisible once you have it. Of course Gaga would be the one to make perfume a metaphor for the evil side of society.

The other unusual thing about Gaga’s perfume is that the scent isn’t built like most of the perfumes sold today. Typically a perfume has three layers with each scent rising and falling as the fragrance is worn. However Gaga’s juice is created around the base scent of belladonna, the deadly plant. This dark note, similar to the smell of incense, is then layered with honey, saffron, and apricot nectar.

Not exactly the kind of scent I think of when Lady Gaga comes to mind, but definitely weird enough. Spending nearly 30 million dollars on advertising, the perfume is predicted to make at least 100 million in it’s first year. Leaving Justin Bieber’s fragrance profits of 39 million in the dust. On Septermber 13, Lady Gaga will be hosting a party at the Guggenheim Museum to release her new scent to the media. Knowing her, the event will be nothing less than the wildest ideas you can dream up.

Between Lady Gaga’s Thanksgiving holiday special, her holiday EP and her holiday workshop at Barney’s in New York City, she sure does have the holiday spirit. None of us really are surprised though at Gaga’s attempt to devote the entire holiday season to herself. When Gaga does something, she goes big or goes home.

Her Thanksgiving special aired on ABC on Thanksgiving night and was a 90-minute primetime event featuring a special appearance from Tony Bennett. The special, titled “A Very Gaga Thanksgiving,” took the scene of a typical jazz bar or diners with a singer providing the entertainment–except Gaga was the performer and her guests were her closest friends and family. To our surprise though, the special was not in true Gaga costume nature.

On top of the Thanksgiving special, Gaga has decided to release some of her holiday favorites performed live that evening on a mini EP titled “A Very Gaga Holiday.” The four-track EP will all be vocals taken from the Thanksgiving special recordings.

Nicki Minaj and Pitbull announced the 2011 American Music Award nominees  on Tuesday afternoon.  The American Music Awards will air on ABC November 20, and the results are in YOUR hands.  So, I’m a bit confused.  This is the American music awards, right?  Yet Adele, hailing from London, tops the charts with four nominations.  Come on, America! We can’t even win our own awards?

All jokes aside, it looks like this year is going to be a battle between old favorite Lady Gaga and newcomer Adele.  Although I use the term “old”  loosely, because it was only 2009 when she was up for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, and she didn’t even win.  That was a shocking night when Gloriana, a small country band, took home the trophy for that award.

Artist’s up for the New Artist of the Year award this year include Foster the People, Hot Chelle Rae, The Band Perry, Thompson Square, Marsha Ambrosius, Miguel, LMFAO, and Wiz Khalifa.  Even though there are eight nominees now, the list will get cut to four before the night of the awards through pre-show voting.

The major award of the night goes to Artist of the Year.  Joining Gaga and Adele in the running are Katy Perry, Lil Wayne, and Taylor Swift.  All other three nominees are up for other awards as well.  In my opinion, the show is not about the awards, but about the performances.  So make sure to tune in and watch Lady Gaga hang from the ceiling, Britney kiss Madonna, and Kayne cut off Taylor Swift…or, you know, something along those lines.

Here is New Artist of the Year Nominee Foster the People’s chart topping single, “Pumped Up Kicks” remixed by Vaski.

Pride is supposedly the worst of the seven deadly sins—but really, who cares about pride when lust and gluttony dominate our media everyday. Rihanna recently received a lot of heat about the teaser for her controversial ads for Armani Jeans that debuted Oct. 6.

In case no one realized, she’s changed her image quite a bit since the start of her career—her and almost EVERY other celebrity. Some think she may be overdoing the S&M and sex appeal thing. Personally, I’m indifferent. It’s her right to do what she wants. Yes, there is the flipside. You could argue that she is a role model, but I’m pretty sure we’ve heard this little song and dance enough times to beat our heads against the wall.

Think Lady Gaga has history?  According  to Billboard, “When Stefani ‘Lady Gaga’ Germanotta was an 18-year-old New York University sophomore, DJ Tiesto was DJ’ing at the opening ceremony of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.”

DJ Tiesto will join the lineup of techno DJ’s hitting the Syracuse area this tonight at the Oncenter.  DJ Chuckie headlined Dayglow at the Oncenter earlier this month on September 2nd, and Avicii opened for B.o.B on September 11th at Juice Jam.

Tiesto is a world renowned DJ who has had a name for himself for quite some time.  This specific tour, though, is something new to him.  For the first time Tiesto is reaching out to conquer the minds of college students on his Club Life Campus Invasion Tour.  Tiesto is even on the cover of Billboard Magazine this month.

His worldwide manager, Michael Cohen of Complete Control, commented on this upcoming tour in the magazine saying,  “College kids are really discovering this much and scene for the first time, and they need a test of the Tiesto experience.  It’s almost a rite of passage.”

So frolic to American Apparel and buy all the neon you can, seek out your best friend Molly, and risk your life for a night you will never forget (or maybe never even remember it existed).  Here is one of Tiesto’s better known songs, “Escape Me.”

Model Coco Rocha recently tweeted,“The word ‘fashionista’ has lost all meaning (if it even had any to begin with).” I approvingly tweeted back #preachsista. According to urban dictionary, fashionista is defined as “a person devoted to fashion clothing, particularly unique or high fashion.” In this day and age of fashion bloggers and reality TV star overload, it seems like everybody and their mother are trying to get their foot in the fashion door.

While some are genuinely stylish, others are just plain tacky. When reality TV stars like JWoww, DJ Pauly D and The Kardashians have actually been backed to start their own clothing linesthe term ‘fashionista’ becomes fuzzy. I know, I love the Kardashians too, but a line needs to be drawn.

While, yes, fashion is supposed to be a means of self-expression, celebrities from the likes of Lady Gaga to Nicki Minaj have brought it to a new, extremely unnecessary level. Sure these “celebrities” are entertaining at a distance, but I wouldn’t exactly call the pom-pom shirt that Nicki Minaj donned during New York Fashion Week a wardrobe staple.

There’s only so much fugly we can take people! So please, do us a favor and stick to the over-dramatization that you’re used to and leave the fashion to those of us who actually know a thing or two.

Have you ever wanted to DJ for an entire mass of people?  Does the idea of playing music from your library for the sheer enjoyment of a crowd excite you? Well, a new website called lets you do these things and more–at least, on a digital scale. allows users to play and share music for digital crowds, represented by other users of the website.  Even though it’s still in its beta phase, this new social music experience is already attracting attention from the likes of Kanye West and Lady Gaga.

When I first heard about, I decided to give it a shot, and I was thoroughly entertained.  There are hundreds of rooms to choose from with different genres of music.  In these rooms, you can hear plenty of new music and, of course, play your own music.  The website is also very intuitive, because it allows DJs to upload and arrange their music as they like.

If you’re a music lover looking to find some new tunes in a fun way, I would definitely recommend  A simple free sign up is all it takes before you can become a part of this new music phenomenon.

Ok, I know I might feel the wrath of the Jerks for dissing Lady Gaga, but I’m doing it anyways. As a devoted fashion lover, I think her style is brilliant and witty MOST of the time. Recently her fashion stunts have gone a little too far and are not longer verging on tacky, they are tacky. It’s as if she has run out of fashion stunts to pull.  Once you show up to an awards show in a womb, how much can you really push the limits? Well this weekend at a MTV Video Music Aid Japan event Gaga tried to top the womb.

Gaga took the term eye makeup to a whole new level when she arrived with her jarring eyeshadow resembling an actual eye. Really, Gaga? We all know everything she does is over the top, but her style choices leading up to her recent moves have maintained an element of couture. Eye eyeshadow is taking things to a far too literal point-of-view, and let’s not forget that fugly hat she’s wearing too.

Lady Gaga gets all washed up in a new sneak-peek clip from her upcoming HBO special, Lady Gaga Presents The Monster Ball Tour at Madison Square Garden.  Videos like this offer a rare glimpse in to the off-stage life of Lady Gaga.  They reveal a much different person behind the wigs, lipstick, and confident exterior.  Here, Gaga spills, “I just sometimes feel like a loser still, you know?  It’s crazy ‘cause we’re at the Garden but I still sometimes feel like a loser kid in high school.”  As Gaga grows from The Fame disco-stick Gaga to Born this Way prosthetics-wearing Gaga, she continues to preach acceptance and equality (sometimes politically) to her fans, or what she calls “Little Monsters.”  Gaga speaks about the “Mother Monster” (as she calls herself) relationship between her and her fans, stating, “I just gotta pick my shit up, gotta pick myself up, and I have to tell myself I’m a superstar every morning so that I can get through this day and be for my fans what they need for me to be… I cannot be destroyed and I will not be destroyed.”

So there you have it, superstar Lady Gaga is just as messed up as you and I.  I jest.  This blogger admires and raises his glass to her preachings pertaining to positivity and equality, although I may question her methods and motives from time to time.  I’d get in line for Monster Ball tickets just as early as the next Gaga stan, but this does not mean that I need saving.  Can’t I be a Gaga fan and not teeter on the verge of sanity and suicide?  Apparently I risk being destroyed and need “Mother Monster” to save me.  Gaga recently received flack for calling comparisons of her Born This Way track to Madonna’s Express Yourself “retarded.”  Aside from that, and an occasional appearance on the “worst dressed” list, I don’t think there is much destruction going on in Gaga’s life.  Lady Gaga Presents The Monster Ball Tour at Madison Square Garden premiers May 7, 2011 on HBO.
