A few months after the conclusion of NBC’s first season of “The Voice,” runner-up Dia Frampton is starting to claim her fame, with lots of thanks to her mentor Blake Shelton. The mentor relationship Blake had with his two contestants, Frampton and Xenia, was unlike the other mentors. You could really tell from watching the show that he truly believed in their talent and their success. Blake has believed in Frampton so much that he has booked her on his upcoming tour that will begin in February, around the same time as the start of the second season of “The Voice.”

In other big news for Frampton, she has been recording her debut album titled “Red,” which will be released on December 6 by Universal Records. This album includes collaborations with several great songwriters and producers such as Kid Cudi, Mark Pontius of Foster the People, Isabella Summers of Florence and the Machine and Tom Shapiro.

Frampton was known as the lyricist of the show. Because of this, Frampton says this is one of the most raw and emotional pieces of art she has ever put out. Before going solo, Frampton had several EPs under the name of Meg & Dia, a duet with her sister. Here is “My Ugly Mouth” from the EP “It’s Always Stormy In Tillamook.”

Okay, so some may say I’m too early for the holidays, but this song allows for an exception. Michael Buble just came out with his Christmas album, containing many gems. My favorite, which has been on constant repeat, is Buble’s take on the Mariah Carey holiday classic, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

It not only slows down the tempo on this usually upbeat song, but adds some genius melodic changes. The track is mainly based by piano, but in true fashion, is accompanied by sleigh bells in the background. The track can be found on Buble’s holiday album titled simply “Christmas.” Originality at its best.

The days of Country music defining itself by mandolins and banjos are over.  With many thanks to Country-Pop crossover acts such as Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum, the country music audience has grown exponentially in the past years.  On November 9, the 45th CMA Awards  will air live on ABC at 8/7c.  For the fourth consecutive year, Carrie Underwood will host the event with Brad Paisley.

The highest honor one can win at the CMAs is Entertainer of the Year. You see, selling albums is only half of the deal to them; the Country music scene thrives on live shows, summer tours and TV specials. Up for Entertainer of the Year this year are Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban.  Although Paisley, Swift and Urban have won in past years, you can expect performances from all five nominees.

So stayed tuned for a recap after the show airs.  Because if there’s anything I love talking about more then Dubstep, Electronic music, and British singers, it’s Country music.

With their new album “Own the Night” just released on September 13, Lady Antebellum is nominated for Vocal Group of the Year.  Here is the album’s second single “We Owned the Night”:

Think Lady Gaga has history?  According  to Billboard, “When Stefani ‘Lady Gaga’ Germanotta was an 18-year-old New York University sophomore, DJ Tiesto was DJ’ing at the opening ceremony of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.”

DJ Tiesto will join the lineup of techno DJ’s hitting the Syracuse area this tonight at the Oncenter.  DJ Chuckie headlined Dayglow at the Oncenter earlier this month on September 2nd, and Avicii opened for B.o.B on September 11th at Juice Jam.

Tiesto is a world renowned DJ who has had a name for himself for quite some time.  This specific tour, though, is something new to him.  For the first time Tiesto is reaching out to conquer the minds of college students on his Club Life Campus Invasion Tour.  Tiesto is even on the cover of Billboard Magazine this month.

His worldwide manager, Michael Cohen of Complete Control, commented on this upcoming tour in the magazine saying,  “College kids are really discovering this much and scene for the first time, and they need a test of the Tiesto experience.  It’s almost a rite of passage.”

So frolic to American Apparel and buy all the neon you can, seek out your best friend Molly, and risk your life for a night you will never forget (or maybe never even remember it existed).  Here is one of Tiesto’s better known songs, “Escape Me.”
