For my first post here concerning politics, I guess it would be pertinent to give you a little bit of a story about my family’s political background, which is best summed up in one brilliant misadventure I endured that truly embodies everything the Grand Old Party is about. I was on a family trip once with my aunt, uncle, cousin, grandmother and my uncle’s brother and his family.

The health care bill seems dead in the water now that Massachusetts elected Scott Brown (the guy with the hot daughter) to the senate. Health care was the crux of Obama’s plans for this year. And amid this speech, America, President Obama admitted to having a deficit.

After a week of letting last week’s Presidential election results soak in, it still seems hard to believe that Barack Obama is the 44th President of the United States. Call it doubt, call it the threat of the Bradley effect, or simply call into question whether or not this country was prepared for change, but in the end, Obama defied the odds. Subsequently after his victory, many phrases were uttered to encapsulate what Obama’s success meant to them, yet my phrase does not necessarily speak of the same enthusiasm. My feelings can be easily summed up with one word: cautionary.
