Multitasking at its best.

It’s 4:35 p.m. and you just got out of your last class on Thursday. It’s officially the weekend—but now what? You decide to call up one of your best buds to catch the “low-down” on the night ahead. You whip out your iPhone and dial her number. As the phone rings you plug in your headphones and carry on. You are on the phone with your BFF but to the rest of the world you are talking to yourself.

So next time you decide to be a slacker and keep your hands, and phone, in your pocket by utilizing you super-duper headset/ear phones, remember what you look like to those around you…and that there’s an invention called gloves.

The same goes for Bluetooth headsets. Come on, this isn’t Avatar, Star Trek or some other galaxy, far, far away. There’s no reason why you need to look like a robot with an electronic growth growing out of your ear. When you’re driving, of course use the headset. But when you are not in the car, take the damn headset off. It just looks stupid and makes it seem like you believe you’re an exception to some kind of rule. Just leave it in the car. You can do it, I promise.

***Please note that I encourage the use of said devices WHILE DRIVING.

There was a win across the world for women last night, Kathryn Bigelow won best director and was the first woman to do so! I didn’t see the The Hurt Locker but I’m happy for the win.

I thought it was great that Biglow sat right in front of James Cameron, fellow nominee and ex-husband. Maybe I was reading into things, but I felt some tension on the other side of the television screen. To know that your film was better than your ex-husband’s must have felt great, especially when said film is Avatar. (more…)

This was by far one of my favorite parts of The Academy Awards last night. Props to Ben Stiller for his convincing Avatar costume, and kudos to “the academy” for not voting Avatar as the best picture of the year.

Sorry this video sucks, YouTube doesn’t have a clear version of this yet.

That's right bitches... it's time for a celebration

This has been a fantastic couple of weeks for Jerk and SU. We trounced ‘nova, got that unofficial policy on distribution repealed, survived the snowpacalypse hype (and got a snowday)…etc. etc. While well aware of all the shitty goings on in the world as a whole (seriously guys, Pandora will never exist *sob*), we decided to celebrate the good this week. (Side note: Bitch editor Kevin Eggleston REALLY likes to celebrate.)

As always, click “pop out player” to hear the list.
