Pedal to the Metal: The Hottest Spring Shoe Trends

First seen from Louis Vuitton, the metal toe-cap.  It has finally trickled down to more colloquial brands.  From flats to heels you can find this trend in almost every style of shoe.  You can find toe-caps in metallic, neon, and even cut-out patterns.  If you want to be ahead of the game, look for flats with a pointed toe-cap.  That sillouette is sure to back in a big way this season.

Another trend are abstract prints, specifically with an Aztec theme.  The classic Mexican desert pattern is now paired with neon colors to give it a modern feel.  With this pattern your footwear is definitely going to be the statement piece of your outfit.  There are so many cute wedges and sandals that create an awesome summer vibe.

Ready to one-up your sandals from last summer? Go for a sandal with straps.  So many styles this season have a buckle or second strap that goes around the ankle.  It’s sophisticated and boho at the same time.  If you’re going for a minimalist look, these sandals are perfect to complete your summer sundress look.

Last but not least, flatforms… Sorry, but I hate these.  I first saw them pop up on one of my favorite online shopping sites.  I can’t stand them! They have chunky platform instead of the sky-high curve of a stiletto.  They completely take the sexy out of heels.    So what’s left? Being super tall and uncomfortable…  No thank you.  These shoes need to stay in the 90’s where they belong.
