Paris Fashion Week: The Finale

New York Fashion Week kicked off the calendar of Fashion Weeks, immediately followed by London, Milan and Paris.  Paris Fashion Week came to a close on March 7th ending the month long global event.

For Fall 2012 designers showcased many menswear inspired trends.  Yves Saint Laurent, Miu Miu, Stella McCartney, Hermes, and Balenciaga all played up structured masculine shapes in their lines.

Another outstanding trend in Paris was the use of oversizing accessories.  Marc Jacobs designed more of the madhatter-esque hats for his Louis Vuitton line.  Sarah Burton’s fall collection for Alexander McQueen included huge wrap around space glasses.  And one of my favorites, Chloe, designed huge oversized coats in feminine pastels.

Aside from masculine and oversized trends, neutrals were also a huge hit.  New designer for Chole, Klare Waight Keller, put forth one of the best collections for Fall 2012.  The line featuring flowy blouses, structured trousers and oversized outerwear was youthful, feminine, and modern.  Her line stood out among a week long parade of moody and dramatic fashion.

What’s more important than the clothes on the runway? What clothes you were to the runway.  The lists of best dressed at Fashion Week are overwhelming, especially since it’s a month long event.  So, here is my top five from one of the craziest shows Louis Vuitton—Marc Jacobs: The Exhibition.  Taking place on two whole floors of the Lourve much of the event showcased LV’s rich fashion history.  In attendance were fashion icons such as Karl Lagerfeld, Catherine Deneuve and Charlotte Gainsbourg not to mention many of Marc Jacobs’ celebrity supporters and friends.

5. Marc Jacobs following his jaw-dropping show at the Lourve hosted the after party in a Comme des Garcons pink polo dress.  With that said, is Marc Jacobs an out of the box innovator or just a little too crazy? You decide.

4.  Rosario Dawson looked romantic in an Elie Saab light powder blue dress.  The high neckline, long sleeves and flowy skirt looked absolutely darhling.  I loved her red heels and red box clutch, which modernized the look.

3. Gwenyth Paltrow showed up in a sleek Louis Vuitton all black suit.  Many others who wore black looked dramatic and overdone—but Paltrows look was fresh.  She wore pointed pumps with a metallic toecap a new trend that’s beginning to take off.

2. Sarah Jessica Parker wore Louis Vuitton also.  For the runway show she wore a sexy white lace top dress (that I’m in love with!).  As for the after party she went for an effortless feminine look.  I loved this casual girly dress because it stood out amongst a sea of black dramatic outfits.

1. Mila Kunis Dior look is no surprise.  Recently named the new face of the fashion house many found it surprising, as Dior tends not to work with American models.  However, she looked drop dead gorgeous in a light pink flower lace dress and a clean-cut neutral coat.
