The Use of Hands Free Cell Phone Devices While Not Driving

Multitasking at its best.

It’s 4:35 p.m. and you just got out of your last class on Thursday. It’s officially the weekend—but now what? You decide to call up one of your best buds to catch the “low-down” on the night ahead. You whip out your iPhone and dial her number. As the phone rings you plug in your headphones and carry on. You are on the phone with your BFF but to the rest of the world you are talking to yourself.

So next time you decide to be a slacker and keep your hands, and phone, in your pocket by utilizing you super-duper headset/ear phones, remember what you look like to those around you…and that there’s an invention called gloves.

The same goes for Bluetooth headsets. Come on, this isn’t Avatar, Star Trek or some other galaxy, far, far away. There’s no reason why you need to look like a robot with an electronic growth growing out of your ear. When you’re driving, of course use the headset. But when you are not in the car, take the damn headset off. It just looks stupid and makes it seem like you believe you’re an exception to some kind of rule. Just leave it in the car. You can do it, I promise.

***Please note that I encourage the use of said devices WHILE DRIVING.
