SU DRAMA’S PRODUCTION OF CABARET OPENS THIS WEEKEND! I hear good things. I have my ticket for tonight. (You’ll receive a review shortly after.)

Kander and Ebb’s Cabaret is often considered one of America’s greatest musicals. You’re probably familiar with another one of their musicals, Chicago. (Shockingly, I have yet to see that show, but the movie was fantastic.) Cabaret is set in pre-World War II-Germany; it includes a memorable score and evocative themes. The show won eight Tony Awards when it first opened on Broadway in 1966. Like my viewing of Chicago, I’ve only seen the movie of Cabaret (staring Liza Minnelli as Sally Bowles), so it should be an adventure.

Unlike most SU Drama Productions, which are held in the Storch Theater, this one will be performed at the Syracuse Stage’s Archbold Theater (same building!) I took a sneak peak at the set after class one day, and it looks incredible. Can’t wait to see this show!

Get tickets, or call the box office at (315) 443-3275. Student tickets are $16.

Performances are: October 1,2,7,8,9 @ 8 p.m. and October 3,10 @ 2 p.m.
