Jerk of the Week: O.J. Simpson

It was only a matter of time before another public figure made my list. Now, in my opinion, OJ Simpson never stopped being a jerk and will probably forever be permanently considered one (Sorry, OJ, that’s completely your fault). But this week his jerkiness deserves a little commenting about.

The Smithsonian has decided against accepting a donation by OJ. He wanted to give them the suit he wore when he was “acquitted of murdering his ex-wife and her friend.” OJ has said that if they would not accept his donation that he “would seek another museum or institution of higher learning.” Is he serious?

OJ come on, do you really believe that people would come to a museum to see the suit that you basically got away with murder in. Are kids supposed to go there on field trips and have their parents/teachers say, “See even if you do something really bad it is possible not to get punished. You can walk around free, and basically shout that you did it after you were in the clear, and then become famous for it. And if you’re rich they will put your clothing in a museum too!”

Seriously, OJ, get a grip! You did something absolutely horrible and got away with it. You should be thankful you weren’t put in jail for life or given the death penalty instead of worrying about where your clothing ends up. You will obviously never grow out of being a jerk, but at least stop showing up in the headlines, people are sick of it.
