Fuck You, I Like My UGGs

Gotta love 'em.

Gotta love 'em.

I’m really tired of people judging me because I wear UGGs. Screw you and your dumb stereotypes. I’m sick of being grouped in with snobby girls who use Daddy’s credit card to buy this season’s fashionable pair of Australia’s finest shoe.

My parents work hard to earn some extra cash for Christmastime when my siblings and I each get one big gift to unwrap from “Santa.” One year, my big gift were a pair of short, brown UGGs. I don’t think I’m entitled because I choose to wear these expensive shoes—I don’t really think much about it at all.

It probably hasn’t occurred to some of you yet, but not everyone who owns a pair of these cozy shoes wears them during the summer months with a denim skirt. Some of us actually wear them for warmth and comfort. Crazy, huh?I’m not exactly a fashionista by anyone’s standards—my closet is filled with T-shirts from Forever 21 and sweatpants with my high school mascot plastered all over them. I’m a fan of comfort, hence my UGGs. The only other pair of shoes I’ve ever worn that put my feet at this kind of ease is my L.L. Bean moccasins. And my UGGs are definitely cuter than my moccasins.

I’m a proud UGG consumer damn it, and I’m not about to be stereotyped because comfort is my preference. I don’t have to explain my clothing choices to anyone, but I feel compelled to mention some words of advice to those who are too quick to judge: stop it already.

Trying not to judge… But I must ask, how comfortable is it when you fall on your bum on an icy hill because these shoes have no traction?

I hear ya, but I still think they’re ridiculous. I can find warm comfort that doesn’t cost $150.

I say this with love. God help you. : P

i have two pairs og ugg boots and i at first i wasnt sure about buying them because of being labelled a prep. im not a prep at-all but i still love my uggs ! they are so comfy and warm and have suprisingly good grip 🙂

  3. Kayla says:

god DON’T help you for wearing UGGs… they do have good traction and are so damn comfortable. you are the coolest 🙂

  4. lee says:

umm… how comfortable could they possibly be when every ugg wearer i see has their ankles twisted inwards from their terribly constructed soles… this boots look they are built to last about 3 months max under mediocre snow conditions, and end up giving each of it’s wearers ankle problems for life.
