London model Agyness Deyn has collaborated with Doc Martens and plans to release a line in early August. Known for her rise to fame in the early 2000’s her style is modern grungey. Basically think 1990’s Winona Ryder except British—that’s Agyness Deyn.
Among the items featured in her line are velvet platform creepers, daisy print dresses, bomber jackets, and a revamp of the classic thigh high DM boots. Deyn has been a long time fan of DM, wearing the original boots all throughout her high school years.
Deyn’s iconic style that perpetuated her breakout clearly comes through in this collection. Her signature thrown together look is the essence of DM. However now the 29-year-old model turned actress resides in sunny California.
Maybe this means bringing some light into her shadowy closet. Deyn told Vogue that, “I’m wearing less black and more grown-up pieces, like classic vintage…”
Her iconic boyish sexiness and thrown together style that brought her fame has changed. Even though DM is still close to Deyn’s heart it will be interesting to see how successful the collection is without her adored neo-grunge image. I can’t wait to check it out in August.
