NBC has cancelled the “Playboy Club” after only three episodes. Hugh Hefner spoke out on Twitter about NBC’s decision, saying “It should have been on cable, aimed at a more adult audience.” I personally agree if a show is going to be called the ‘Playboy Club’ it should be aimed at a fully adult audience.
The show had too much hype, but not the good kind. Companies threatened to pull their ads before the show even began due to its adult premise. Combine that with lack of viewers and average writing, the show didn’t stand a chance. It is being replaced with Brian William’s new show “Rock Center with Brian Williams.” Good news though, NBC did order full seasons of “Up All Night,” with Christina Applegate and Will Arnett as well as “Whitney,” with Whitney Cummings.
Honestly, even “Holly’s World” is better than “Playboy Club” and that show is just downright weird. Thank you NBC for the cancellation–can you please bring back Liz Lemon now?
